“A little yoga or meditation a day might just keep the doctor away.”
At least that’s what a recent Harvard study seems to suggest.
Considering those who participated used 43% fewer medical services than they did the year before, it’s safe to assume that these practices in mindfulness are a way to keep health issues at bay. So why aren’t more insurers covering them?
Luckily, as more and more companies opt for flexible workplace benefits that include Lifestyle Spending Accounts (LSAs), normalizing coverage for wellness perks, such as yoga or meditation, has become part of an upward and more inclusive trend.
We aren’t there yet, though. Until the majority of insurers agree to foot the bill, most Canadians will find themselves paying for these services out of pocket.
Yoga and meditation offer health care savings—and you can do them at home.
